Dr. Harvey Manes opens his Westhampton estate every summer to celebrate the recipients of the Manes American Peace Prize. 

These well-attended events were created with the aim of promoting peace and fundraising for the Manes American Peace Prize Foundation. The galas include silent auctions, raffles, local food, local wines and are attended by Long Island celebrities, et al. 

Past Manes Peace Prize recipients include the NY Botanical Garden, Guardian Angels, Nassau County Museum of Art, Life’s WORC, the Jewish Museum of New York, among others. 

Dr. Manes, established the Manes-American Peace Prize five years ago, to help those in need and to make the world a better place for future generations. 

For over twenty years, he served as a clinical instructor of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Manes also served as an attorney, philanthropist, art collector, and sculptor. He created the Peace Prize for those who are active in areas of health, education, and welfare, including community safety, fighting poverty and helping undeserved people rise to their potential.
